At about eight weeks , the comb and wattles in males are well developed , whereas in females they are much less conspicuous . लगभग 8 सप्ताह की उम्र में नर चूजों की कलगी दाढ़ी अच्छी बड़ी हो जाती है.मादा पक्षियों में ये बहुत कम उभरती हैं .

The general symptoms are wart-like nodules on the comb and wattles and appearance of greyish spots or blisters on the skin . इस रोग के सामान्य लक्षण हैं : कलगी और मुर्गदाढ़ी के ऊपर नुकीली गिल्टियों का उभर आना तथा चमड़ी पर भूरे रंग के धब्बों अथवा फफोलों का प्रकट होना .
