Because of this tight connection, when Arab-Israeli diplomacy began in earnest in the 1970s, the Jewish state formulation largely disappeared from view; everyone simply assumed that diplomatic recognition of Israel meant accepting it as the Jewish state. Only in recent years did Israelis realize otherwise, as Israeli Arabs came to accept Israel but reject its Jewish nature. For example, an important 2006 publication from the Mossawa Center in Haifa, The Future Vision of Palestinian Arabs in Israel , proposes that the country become a religiously neutral state and joint homeland. In brief, Israeli Arabs have come to see Israel as a variant of Palestine. इसी जबर्दस्त सम्बन्ध के चलते 1970 में जब अरब इजरायल कूटनीति अत्यंत गम्भीर स्तर पर आरम्भ हुई तो यहूदी राज्य की अभिव्यक्ति आम तौर पर परिदृश्य से लुप्त हो गयी क्योंकि सभी ने सामान्य तौर पर यह कल्पना कर ली कि इजरायल की कूटनीतिक स्वीकृति का अर्थ इसे यहूदी राज्य के रूप में स्वीकार करना है। अभी हाल के वर्षों में इजरायलवासियों को आभास हुआ कि ऐसा नहीं है जब इजरायली अरब ने इजरायल को तो स्वीकार कर लिया परंतु इसके यहूदी स्वरूप को अस्वीकार कर दिया। उदाहरण के लिये 2006 में हायफा के मोसावा केंद्र ने एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रकाशन The Future Vision of Palestinian Arabs in Israel में प्रस्तावित किया कि यह देश धार्मिक रूप से तटस्थ राज्य हो चुका है और एक संयुक्त ग़ृह । संक्षेप में इजरायली अरब इजरायल को फिलीस्तीन का ही विकल्प भर मानते हैं।

We work with anti-Islamist Muslims to vanquish a common scourge. We will triumph over this new variant of barbarism so that a modern form of Islam can emerge. इस्लामवादी पश्चिम से घृणा करते हैं क्योंकि इसे ईसाइयत के समकक्ष मानते हैं , ऐतिहासिक रूप से इसके प्रति शत्रुता के चलते और मुसलमानों पर व्यापक प्रभाव के कारण भी इससे घृणा करते हैं। इस्लामवाद अस्वीकार करने, पराजित करने और पश्चिमी संस्कृति को पराभूत करने के अभियान को प्रेरित करता है। इस आग्रह के बाद भी इस्लामवादी पश्चिमी प्रभाव को आत्मसात करते हैं जिसमें कि विचारधारा की अवधारणा भी है। निश्चित रूप से इस्लामवाद इस्लाम को एक राजनीतिक विचारधारा में परिवर्तित कर देता है। इस्लामवाद सही रूप में कट्टरवादी स्वप्निल जगत का स्वाद देता है जो कि अन्य “ वादों” की भाँति एक वाद है जिसकी तुलना फासीवाद और कम्युनिज्म से की जा सकती है। उदाहरण के लिये इन दो आंदोलनों की भाँति इस्लामवाद भी षडयंत्रकारी अवधारणा पर काफी निर्भर रहता है और इसी संदर्भ में विश्व की व्याख्या करता है और अपनी महत्वाकाँक्षा के लिये राज्य प्राप्त करना चाहता है और इसकी प्राप्ति के लिये कोई भी हथकंडे अपनाता है।
